Palin: Couric questions weren't unfair

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Sarah Palin on the infamous Katie Couric interview: It's OK.

The Alaska governor and former GOP vp candidate told NBC's Matt Lauer in an interview Tuesday that her self-confidence wasn't shaken after the beating she took in media and political circles from the September interview with the "CBS Evening News" anchor. She was just more annoyed than anything else about the questions.

"I'm sure that some of my impatience showed through in that interview," Palin told Lauer. "I think it also showed, though, certainly as a Washington outsider and as somebody -- not one to just, I guess, kind of play in the campaigning media game that is just repeating, perhaps memorized lines in an interview. That's not me."

In the week after the Republican defeat in the election, Palin has been singled out by anonymous sources widely reported who said she refused preparation for the Couric interview. But Palin told Lauer that she didn't think the questions were unfair, just annoying. She singled out one question about what she read.

"What do you mean, what do I read in Alaska?" asked Palin. "I read the same things that you guys read in New York, and there in L.A. and in Washington state. What do you mean what do I read up there?"
