US STOCKS-Wall St pushes higher on energy, tech

NEW YORK Nov 18 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rebounded in choppy trade on Tuesday, boosted by energy shares while the tech sector was lifted by reassuring results and outlooks from computer maker Hewlett-Packard (HPQ.N).

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI rose 93.42 points, or 1.13 percent, to 8,367.00. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX added 6.49 points, or 0.76 percent, to 857.24. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was up 4.00 points, or 0.27 percent, at 1,486.05. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Kenneth Barry)
