No signs of new threat in Zawahri message, U.S. says
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Al Qaeda deputy Ayman al Zawahri's new message urging attacks on "criminal" America contains no indications of an increased threat to the U.S. homeland, the Homeland Security Department said on Wednesday.
Department spokeswoman Laura Keehner, asked if there was anything in the message to change the department's assessment of the threat to the United States, said, "Not that I've seen. We maintain that there's no credible information to suggest there's an imminent threat against the homeland at this time."
