Thales supports Dassault bid to increase stake
PARIS Nov 21 (Reuters) - French defence electronics group Thales (TCFP.PA) fully supports efforts by warplane maker Dassault Aviation (AVMD.PA) to become the company's largest private shareholder, a senior Thales executive said on Friday.
"Dassault is already a shareholder in Thales and we consider this movement friendly and we support it totally," Reynald Seznac, CEO of Thales Alenia Space, said at a briefing for reporters.
Dassault this week entered exclusive talks to buy the 20.8 pct Thales stake held by Alcatel-Lucent (ALUA.PA).
Seznec said the move would not affect Thales Alenia Space, 67 percent owned by Thales and 33 pct by Finmeccanica (SIFI.MI).
