Often ignored as an economic laggard, the Philippines has beaten India to win the top spot for offshore call center outsourcing. That's amid fresh grumbles in the U.S. over sending jobs abroad. Video
Canada opposition to sign coalition plan Monday
OTTAWA |
OTTAWA Dec 1 (Reuters) - Canada's three opposition parties will reveal details on Monday of their coalition agreement, which could lead them to unseat Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper as early as next week.
"We're very near to a signature of an agreement amongst the three parties," said NDP legislator Thomas Mulcair.
The Liberals and New Democrats, with backing from the separatist Bloc Quebecois, have reached a deal to form a coalition to replace Harper less than two months after he was reelected. They say they have lost confidence in the government over its management of the economic crisis.
They will hold a signing ceremony for the deal at 4 pm (2100 GMT) on Monday. (Reporting by Randall Palmer; Writing by Louise Egan; Editing by Frank McGurty)
