My Good Dog Donates Vibram® Balls to Endangered Species at Kansas City Zoo
NORTH BROOKFIELD, Mass.--(Business Wire)--
The quality of life for the African Wild Dogs at the Kansas City Zoo has just
improved thanks to My Good Dog pet toys. My Good Dog, a division of Quabaug
Corporation, donated Vibram® balls to the rare species, infamous for quickly
destroying products with their powerful jaws.

“African Wild Dogs have incredibly strong jaws designed to help them take down
prey significantly larger than themselves – some as large as one ton,” explained
Linda Long, Kansas City Zoo keeper. It’s difficult to find items for them to
chew on to exert those instincts that aren’t immediately destroyed and
potentially ingested but your products withstood the test. The Vibram Balls have
made a significant impact on our enrichment program for these dogs.”

Molded in the USA in 3” and 4” diameters the Vibram balls are nitrosamine free,
tough, durable and hollow to fill with rewards or training aids. A Vibram
Performance Proven Lug Design provides crazy bounces and long lasting fun.
Available in camo, orange, cobalt, magenta and black, with or without a rope.

“We were thrilled to hear that our products made a difference for this extremely
rare breed,” explained Luke Pfeifle, vice president of sales of Quabaug’s My
Good Dog division. “We are also thrilled to be able to demonstrate the
toughness, durability and plain fun of our products in such an extreme manner.”

African wild dogs, a very unique species, are one of the most rare and
endangered species of carnivores with as few as 3,000 to 5,000 existing in the
wild. With the recent birth of five pups in August, Kansas City Zoo now has
seven dogs living in captivity as ambassadors to this breed of animal in the
wild.
