CAIRO Dec 1 (Reuters) - Intel Corp (INTC.O), the world's biggest chipmaker, said on Monday that an Egyptian company will assemble Intel motherboards in the Arab country and export them across Africa.

The Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said in a statement 85 percent of the production will be exported to regional and African markets. The Egyptian assembly plant will provide between 400 and 600 new jobs over the next two years, the ministry said.

It did not disclose the cost of the deal.

The deal was signed by Intel, the Egyptian company METRA-BORAQ, and the state-run Information Technology Industry Development Agency, the statement said. (Writing by Alaa Shahine)
