ATLANTA, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- With today's uncertain economy, consumers
are doing their research more than ever before they spend. According to a new
national survey conducted by interactive website Kudzu.com, 86% of consumers
are checking out online business reviews before making purchasing decisions.
Kudzu.com gained insight from over 600 users, 90% of which said they trust
reviews they read online. Findings also revealed that more than half of
consumers place a high value on online reviews when looking for trustworthy
home service professionals.
"Consumers want to know what services or products have worked well for
others before spending their dollars," said Rachel Spasser, Vice President of
Marketing & Business Development for Kudzu. "Websites like Kudzu.com allow
people to get feedback from their community and spend their money on service
providers who get the job done right the first time."
The survey aimed to gain insight into the online behaviors of consumers
who search for local services. It also found that consumers are more likely to
write a review following a good experience than a bad one.
Six million jobs were performed in 2007 because of Kudzu.com. Local
services on the site range from life maintenance to life milestones and
business categories include home repair and improvement, legal, health care,
pets, childcare, eldercare, real estate, automotive, financial and beauty. The
interactive website also helps participating businesses access high-quality
leads and referrals from informed customers in their local markets.
