MUMBAI (Reuters) - A fire broke out early on Tuesday in the Taj Mahal hotel, the scene of a bloody siege in the Mumbai attacks, but was quickly put out, a spokesman said.

The fire on the 20th floor was probably caused by a short circuit, spokesman Suresh Rangarajan said.

The 105-year-old Mumbai landmark, which gunmen attacked during a 60-hour siege, is boarded up behind police barricades for renovation.
