EU exec: Spain asks to review Iberia/Vueling deal

BRUSSELS Dec 11 (Reuters) - Spanish authorities have sought EU permission to review plans by national carrier Iberia IBLA.MC to buy Spanish low-cost airlines Vueling (VULG.MC) and Clickair, the European Commission said on Thursday.

Commitments have been offered and the deadline for a decision by the Commission has been extended to Jan. 9 from Dec. 16, the EU executive said in a daily list of mergers under review. (Reporting by Bate Felix, editing by Dale Hudson)
