NEW YORK (Reuters) - A year after sending just one player to the Pro Bowl in a Super Bowl championship season, the New York Giants had six players named in the All-Star squad on Tuesday.

Defensive end Justin Tuck, guard Chris Snee, placekicker John Carney and punter Jeff Feagles were selected as starters and were joined in the squad by quarterback Eli Manning and center Shaun O'Hara.

The Minnesota Vikings also had six players named in the NFC roster including running back Adrian Peterson and three members of their defensive line.

Topping the AFC in All-Stars were the New York Jets, who had seven players in the squad including quarterback Brett Favre, running back Thomas Jones and his backfield colleague and kick returner Leon Washington.

The Tennessee Titans had six players on the AFC roster, three on offense and three on defense, while the Baltimore Ravens had five players and the Pittsburgh Steelers three.

Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts was named starting quarterback on the AFC while Kurt Warner of the Arizona Cardinals took that honor in the NFC.
