LONDON Dec 17 (Reuters) - Britain's healthcare cost-effectiveness watchdog NICE said on Wednesday it had recommended the use of Remicade as an option for treating acute exacerbations of ulcerative colitis. Remicade is sold in Europe by Schering-Plough Corp SGP.N.

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) said the drug could be considered for use on the state health service in patients for whom ciclosporin was not suitable.
