Belgian PM offers govt resignation in meddling case

BRUSSELS Dec 19 (Reuters) - Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme has proposed his government resign after a court found on Friday there were signs the government had sought to sway a ruling on stricken Fortis banking group, his spokesman said.

"The prime minister has proposed this. There is no decision taken," government spokesman Peter Poulussen said by telephone.
