NEW YORK, NY, Dec 22 (MARKET WIRE) --
1st-Air.Net (www.1st-air.net) reports that as published business class
fares between the U.S. to Australia continue to soar, U.S.-based
travelers are using a strong U.S. dollar to route via Canada for up to
60% savings. Published premium class fares from the U.S. to Australia can
exceed $20,000 in business class and $25,000 in first Class travel
depending on the route and availability. However, the One World Alliance
offers a special product known as the Circle Pacific fare offering
premium class cost reductions to Australia as long as travel is via Asia
in one direction. From the U.S., fares start at $9,100 in business class
and $12,700 in first class for journeys under 22,000 miles. Savvy
business class travelers are finding even better deals by starting a
Circle Pacific ticket north of the border. Circle Pacific fares from
Canadian gateways such as Toronto or Vancouver start at US$6,573 in
business class and $8,600 in first class for a 22,000 mile fare.
Travelers in the northeastern United States can easily reach Toronto to
begin their trip using Cathay Pacific to Australia and returning with
Qantas directly to the U.S. Travelers on the west coast can also fly to
Vancouver on the cheap, and then start their long haul ticket from Canada
and benefit from a 28% cost reduction. The pricing differential between
U.S. and Canadian departures is driven by the U.S. dollar reaching a
2-year high against the Canadian dollar. As the U.S. dollar begins to
lose ground against other world currencies this pricing anomaly could
soon disappear. Travel using the One World Circle Pacific fare is
permitted with any of the alliance partners including American Airlines,
British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, LAN and Qantas. The Star
Alliance also offers a Circle Pacific fare but it is limited to
departures from west coast gateways. U.S.-based travelers interested in
business class travel to Australia via a Canadian gateway may contact
1st-Air.Net for further information or any One World member directly.
1st-Air (www.1st-air.net) offers premium class international travel at
savings of 20% or more in markets without competitive fares. Since 1998,
the company has used its proprietary routing technology and alliances to
create value for premium class travelers.
