Apfelbach`s Expertise to Guide M2E Power Through Future Development and the
Commercialization Stage of Its Innovative Renewable Power Generation Solutions
BOISE, Idaho--(Business Wire)--
M2E Power, Inc., a renewable energy design and development company today
announced that Eric C. Apfelbach has joined the company as President and Chief
Executive Officer. Apfelbach will be responsible for leading the company through
future stages of development, including the commercialization of M2E products.
Prior to joining M2E Power, Apfelbach was the President and CEO of Virent Energy
Systems, Inc., where he raised significant capital, formed key global industry
alliances with companies like Shell, Honda and Cargill, while successfully
positioning the company as one of the world`s top biofuel start-ups.

"Eric was selected as the new CEO of M2E based on his impressive leadership
experience with renewable energy companies, and his impeccable record around
growth and expansion," said Gerry Langeler, managing director at OVP Venture
Partners and board member at M2E Power. "His experience and leadership will be a
great complement not only to M2E`s talented team, but to the game-changing
technological innovations the company is developing for the military and
consumers worldwide."

Apfelbach has more than twenty years of leadership and manufacturing experience,
as well as extensive knowledge in the area of venture investment and funding. In
addition to his role at Virent Energy Systems, he was also Founder, President
and CEO of Alfalight, Inc., a leading provider of highly efficient high-power
diode lasers. He has held positions in the flat panel display industry with
Planar Systems, Inc., and in the semiconductor industry with Applied Materials
and Mostek. Apfelbach holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as a number of industry
affiliations and board appointments.

"This technology offers a paradigm shift in the performance of both linear and
rotating electric generators and motors. It can efficiently tap the kinetic
energy of everyday motion to continuously generate, convert and store power for
use in a variety of scalable military, utility and consumer applications," said
Apfelbach. "Broad scale application will have a significant impact on CO2
emissions due to the reduction of wasted energy during the generation and use of
electricity. This is a pivotal time for M2E as we`re entering a new era of
renewable energy. I`m looking forward to the challenges ahead."

The M2E solution originated with Department of Energy-funded research at the
Idaho National Labs (INL). Inventor, Eric Yarger, and his team at the INL sought
to ease the military`s battery dependence for mobile power, and offer soldiers a
way to generate power as they move around. It leverages the well-proven Faraday
Principle (energy produced via motion of a magnet through a wire coil), but with
changes in the magnetic architecture that has broad applicability to many sizes
of motor generators. M2E provides sufficient energy for use in devices ranging
from cell phones and digital audio players to PDAs and digital cameras.

M2E`s current development is focused on prototypes for military applications and
for commercial mobile electronic devices, including integrated power
generation/storage solutions that will supplant existing batteries for mobile
devices. Moreover, the company`s future roadmap includes development of
automotive, wind and wave power applications. For more information, please visit
