SAN FRANCISCO--(Business Wire)--
Law firm Bartko, Zankel, Tarrant & Miller today announced it was awarded the
2008 Law Technology News (LTN) Award for the "Most Innovative Use of Technology
during a Trial."

The sixth annual LTN Awards recognize legal technology leaders - both in
innovation and implementation. BartkoZankel was selected for the LTN Award as a
result of a "total litigation technology solution," encompassing electronic
discovery, document review and analysis and trial presentation technologies,
which its in-house team assembled and implemented. This unique solution helped
the firm successfully defend a client in the high stakes criminal antitrust
trial, "United States of America v. Gary Swanson," which was tried in US Federal
Court in the Northern District of California in February of 2008.

BartkoZankel`s focused, technology-based solution provided efficiency and
drastically cut costs. The trial ended in a hung jury after seven days of
deliberations. The Justice Department announced that it would not retry the
case.

"BartkoZankel is honored to receive the LTN Technology Award for the litigation
support solution our outstanding in-house team developed," said Rob Bunzel,
Managing Partner. "The experience prompted us to start a company, BZresources,
offering technology solutions to other law firms with similar needs. We hope to
improve the way legal teams formulate and implement trial strategies, to reduce
the time and money spent on complex e`discovery."

During the case, the government produced more than 19-million electronic pages,
1,152 boxes of hard copy materials and over 1000 hours of videotaped
depositions, including more than 400 deposition exhibits. Analysis of the
documents along with the integration and effective use of six different
applications during trial (IPRO, iConect, Concordance, Livenote, Timemap and
Sanction) was critical to the successful outcome.

In September 2008, BartkoZankel launched BZresources, a consulting group
offering total litigation technology solutions. The solutions offered by
BZresources are quickly gaining recognition for leveling the playing field in an
arena where mastery of the documents is essential.

"All of our LTN Technology Award winners have demonstrated innovation and
creativity in applying technology to a wide range of legal challenges," said
Kevin Iredell, group director, brand management for Incisive. "We`re delighted
to welcome this year`s awardees to this elite group."

Information on the LTN Awards and winners will be featured in the March 2009
issue of Law Technology News and on the magazine`s Web site at
