CBS near Verizon FiOS broadcast deal- NY Post

Jan 12 (Reuters) - CBS Corp (CBS.N) is expected to announce a retransmission deal with Verizon Communications Inc's (VZ.N) FiOS TV service later on Monday, the New York Post said, citing sources.

Neither side is acknowledging that CBS is being paid for its broadcast network signal, according to the paper.

Last week, Time Warner Cable (TWC.N) extended a deal to carry CBS's television stations.

CBS has been at the forefront of a broader push by broadcasters to get paid by cable operators that carry their stations.

FiOS serves 8.2 million homes in 14 states, the paper said.

CBS and Verizon could not be immediately reached for comment by Reuters. (Reporting by Ajay Kamalakaran in Bangalore)
