MBS Point of Service Solution Pilots Successfully with University of Central
Missouri and Prepares for General Market Availability
NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--
Cornell-Mayo today announced that its Omnistore "store systems anywhere"
platform was selected by MBS Textbook Exchange, Inc. for its MBS Point of
Service solution. The University of Central Missouri is currently completing a
successful pilot with the new system from Cornell-Mayo and MBS Textbook
Exchange, which will be open for general availability in February.

After a thorough evaluation process working with IBM and Arrow ECS, MBS Textbook
Exchange selected Cornell-Mayo for its next-generation Omnistore solution that
has proven to be highly flexible in meeting the unique needs of higher education
retail stores. "The higher education market needs everything traditional retail
stores need at the point of sale, plus the ability to handle book rental,
student financial aid interface, and much more," said Dave Henderson, VP, MBS
Textbook Exchange. "Cornell-Mayo was the only vendor that proved it could work
with us to create a true Point of Service solution that goes far beyond basic
transactions."

With Cornell-Mayo`s Omnistore technology, the MBS Point of Service solution
features:

* Ergonomic, touch-screen design that saves valuable counter space
* Fast training time, which is key for part-time and seasonal back-to-school
rush employees
* Ability to handle specific higher education needs such as textbook rental and
buybacks, financial aid integration, and campus debit card payment
* Debit-with-pin capability

"We are incredibly pleased by our pilot of the MBS Point of Service solution
built with Cornell-Mayo`s Omnistore platform," said Charlie Rutt, Director of
University Stores for the University of Central Missouri. "The system has
performed mission-critical activities which we could not previously have done at
the point-of-sale, such as textbook buybacks and rentals. As tuition continues
rising and students are looking for ways to save cash on books, we have to
compete with the online channel by having the technology to support rentals and
buybacks, and this solution has enabled us to do that and train our staff very
quickly."

"It has been a pleasure working with MBS Textbook Exchange to build this custom
solution that will meet the complex requirements of every bookstore in the
higher education market," said Gene Cornell, President, Cornell-Mayo Associates.
"We are excited to move forward soon with general availability of the Omnistore
MBS Point of Service solution and pleased that MBS has already garnered a great
deal of interest and excitement from its existing customer base in upgrading to
the new system."

Cornell-Mayo will exhibit its OPUS Millennium® POS software and Omnistore "store
systems anywhere" platform at booth #1544 at the National Retail Federation
(NRF) 98th Annual Convention and Expo, January 12 - 13 in New York City.
