Leader in Retail Workforce Management Solutions Reaches Unprecedented Milestone
NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--
Marking an unprecedented milestone in the global market for retail labor
scheduling, Kronos® Incorporated today announced that it has licensed Kronos for
Retail for more than 1.5 million retail associates. Retailers around the world
from every industry segment including Anchor Blue, GameStop, Hannaford, IKEA,
Payless, PUMA, and Somerfield use the scheduling solution to plan accurately and
execute consistently, allowing them to drive store productivity, control labor
costs, and minimize compliance risk.

"As the recession worsens, retailers who are fighting to protect market share
and maintain profitability have one clear choice - improve store productivity,"
said Nikki Baird, managing director at Retail Systems Research. "This is a
critical time for retailers to focus on workforce management as part of their
strategy for overall process improvement. Labor scheduling can significantly
increase store productivity, impacting both top and bottom lines, through
accurate forecasting and better utilization of store labor."

Improve productivity

Kronos scheduling helps retailers drive store productivity by improving
alignment of the workforce with customer demand. Powerful forecasting algorithms
analyze store sales and traffic patterns to determine upcoming business levels
and required staffing. Advanced schedule optimization automates creation of
best-fit employee schedules for all departments, jobs, and tasks based on
employee skills, availabilities, and work/life preferences. Configurable
dashboards and screens simplify access and streamline the scheduling process for
managers and employees alike.

Control labor costs

Kronos for Retail also enables more consistent staffing, which not only improves
coverage and service but also reduces costly over-scheduling and unnecessary
overtime and premium pay. Embedded analytics improves visibility and control by
providing on-demand access to actual labor cost and productivity metrics.
Integration to time and attendance further enhances cost control through
elimination of payroll inflation from unauthorized employee work time.

Minimize compliance risk

To help retailers combat the risk of non-compliance to labor-laws that is
inherent in store operations, Kronos provides comprehensive support for federal,
state, and corporate work rules that pertain to employee scheduling, including
constraints for shifts, meals, breaks, union requirements, and laws that govern
the use of minor age employees. This enables retailers to improve labor law
compliance by eliminating illegal scheduling practices in their stores.

Consensus among retailers

A recent survey of Kronos for Retail users found that 44 percent consider
meeting store budget constraints a critical element of effective employee
scheduling; 71 percent consent that workforce management technology helps
control labor costs; and an astounding 88 percent note that their store
associates have reacted positively to their use of Kronos for Retail.

"Difficulties associated with retail scheduling are felt from the boardroom to
the stockroom," said John Anderson, director of retail marketing at Kronos. "Now
more than ever, retailers need a scheduling solution that enables them to plan
accurately and execute consistently. This need has led to the unparalleled
adoption of the Kronos for Retail scheduling solution. This latest milestone is
a clear indication of our success in meeting the industry`s needs."

Kronos made this announcement from the National Retail Federation`s (NRF) 98th
Annual Convention & Expo being in held in New York from Jan. 11-14. Kronos is
exhibiting in booth #2123.
