Michigan CardioVascular Institute Selects Sage Intergy EHR to Streamline
Clinical, Workflow and Reporting Efficiencies

Twenty-two location cardiovascular group practice to use Sage Intergy
solutions to streamline data, drive best practices and position itself for
pay-for-performance

TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Michigan CardioVascular Institute, a
Saginaw-Mich.-based group practice including 33 nationally recognized
cardiologists and heart surgeons, today announced it selected the integrated
Sage Intergy practice management (PM) and Sage Intergy EHR electronic health
records system to improve care, workflow, data access and reporting. The
group, which employs more than 260 people at 22 locations in mid Michigan,
also wants to standardize care and prepare for a pay-for-performance
environment.

"After carefully evaluating 11 vendors for the past year-and-a-half, we
selected Sage because its solutions are the easiest to use, run on a single,
integrated database, and most importantly, best fit our clinical,
administrative and financial workflow processes," said Bill Hardimon, MCVI's
CEO.

"Physicians also deemed Sage to be the most flexible of all the systems they
considered," Hardimon continued. "They feel Sage Intergy EHR respects their
individual preferences because its look and feel can be customized according
to each physician's specifications without adversely impacting MCVI's overall
operations and objectives."

Added CEO Hardimon, "Sage's team has been extremely responsive through every
step of the process and continues to demonstrate that commitment as they guide
us through the planning, training and implementation stages."

When Sage Intergy EHR goes live in mid 2009, MCVI will be able to:

-- Prescribe and sign orders and charts electronically for the first
time.
-- Reduce telephone calls from pharmacists because clinicians, including
14
nurse practitioners and physician assistants, will quickly know
whether
prescriptions are covered by insurers' drug formularies before
        patients leave the office.
-- Eliminate redundant data entry due to Sage Intergy EHR and Sage
Intergy
        PM's integrated, single-database platform.
-- Streamline access to patient information.

"Physicians will be able to securely access a patient's complete record
anytime anywhere via a secure Web connection, enabling them to make better and
timelier treatment decisions," Hardimon said.

Additionally, the group is purchasing Sage Practice Analytics and Sage Intergy
Practice Portal, enabling the practice to mine its data and facilitate secure,
electronic practice-patient communication, respectively.

"By combining Sage Intergy EHR with Sage Practice Analytics, we will gain a
level of insight into our clinical and financial performance that is
impossible with the system that we are replacing," Hardimon said. "Due to the
difficult economic climate, the national movement to link reimbursement to
quality of care and the incoming administration's plan to reform healthcare,
it is imperative we measure quality indicators and outcomes as soon as
possible. Sage provides the powerful tools we need to accomplish those goals."

Sage Intergy EHR and Sage Practice Analytics also will allow the practice's
cardiovascular research team, which is comprised of 12 full-time employees, to
work more efficiently. "Additionally, these two solutions will boost staff
productivity by sharply reducing the time -- more than 20 hours a week -- our
employees currently spend manually analyzing and compiling data to participate
in Medicare's pay-for-performance program," Hardimon said.

Once Intergy EHR is rolled out, the practice's MCVI Foundation, which develops
and promotes educational and other community initiatives that enhance quality
of life for individuals with cardiac-related problems, will implement Sage MIP
Fund Accounting software for nonprofit financial management. Sage MIP Fund
Accounting is designed to allow nonprofit organizations to track and report on
multiple funds, across multiple budget periods, to meet reporting requirements
and demonstrate accountability.

According to Sharon L. Howard, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for
Sage, "We are delighted that MCVI has decided to become a Sage customer. The
selection further validates that our solutions are having a significant impact
on clients' clinical, administrative and financial operations. Sage is looking
forward to helping MCVI leverage our technologies to their fullest potential."
