MRO Interfaces with Organization's Electronic Billing System to Generate Cost
Savings, Process Improvements and Substantial Administrative Efficiencies
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.--(Business Wire)--
MRO Corp., the market leader of shared-service, release-of-information (ROI)
solutions for healthcare providers, today announced that it has expanded its ROI
processing services for Mercy Health System of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Under
the agreement, Mercy`s central billing office has partnered with MRO to provide
remote release-of-information services for the distribution of billing
documentation to third-party requesters.

With this contract, MRO fields requests for copies of billing records from
attorneys, physicians and patients; verifies patient consent; electronically
delivers the financial records; charges the requesting parties the appropriate
fee as established by state or other regulatory agencies; and handles requestor
communications, issues resolution and all other responsibilities. By interfacing
directly with the health system`s electronic billing system, MRO retrieves the
designated billing-record copies without a need to devote onsite staff resources
to manually select, copy and scan documents.

"Mercy`s central billing office has a long-standing, successful shared-services
partnership with MRO for the electronic distribution of medical records," says
Mike Glitz, director of patient accounts, Mercy Health System. "Since MRO is
able to provide a similar service for releasing copies of financial
documentation, it only made sense to alleviate additional workload and
streamline our department. In the first six weeks, we eliminated extensive staff
time that was previously devoted to handling and fulfilling requests. I have
been so impressed that I recommended MRO`s services to a peer at a hospital in
another region."

"MRO`s technology allows us to offer our clients an unmatched range of
outsourcing options," according to Stephen Hynes, president and chief operating
officer, MRO Corp. "As more and more hospitals deploy automated systems, MRO is
uniquely positioned to help these organizations maximize their return on
investment in both new and existing IT systems. Automated, electronic remote
document selection generates new staffing efficiencies and makes outsourcing an
ideal option for distribution of both medical records and financial information.
The results for healthcare providers include new cost savings and the overall
improvement of their ROI processes."
