'Your Healthy Year' Kick-Off Helps Consumers Achieve and Sustain Wellness

BENTONVILLE, Ark., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Sam's Club is hosting a
Pharmacy Challenge and Savings Checkup in all of its locations through January
31 where consumers can check prices on their prescriptions and
over-the-counter medications against other retailers. Sam's Club guarantees it
will beat any competitor price on branded prescriptions. Membership is not
required to use a Sam's Club pharmacy.
"Your Healthy Year" promotes a variety of ways consumers can improve their
wellness in 2009 whether their goals include weight loss, adjusted spending on
pharmaceuticals, additional exercise, reconnecting with loved ones, time
management, organization and more," said Todd Matherly, vice president, Health
and Wellness, Sam's Club. "We want to help our members and families not
familiar with our Pharmacy program or our health and wellness products and
services to reach their goals, and discover ways to reduce their costs."
Make Medical Health a Must
In a recent survey conducted by Sam's Club, 70 percent of respondents
reported they will seek new ways to maintain personal health and wellness in
2009. In addition, 41 percent indicated price was a key factor in selecting a
health and wellness resource, with convenience and product selection also
playing an important role.
Aspire to be the Biggest Loser
An overwhelming majority of survey respondents (nearly 70 percent) cited
eating healthier, well balanced meals as a primary wellness goal in the New
Year. With any diet and exercise program, consumers should consult a Health
Care professional before beginning any endeavor.
Live Active; Sleep Well
According to the survey, 49 percent would like to turn occasional workouts
into everyday habits in the New Year as well. Sam's Club is a destination for

Sort, Straighten and Stock
More than half (53 percent) of respondents noted "organization" as a top
2009 wellness goal but many are unsure of steps they can take to clear their
