Russian PM Putin: gas to flow to Europe on Tuesday

NOVO-OGARYOVO, Russia Dec 12 (Reuters) - Russia has agreed to resume natural gas transit to European consumers at 0700 GMT on Tuesday, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Monday.

"What are your proposals?" Putin asked Gazprom's Chief Executive Officer Alexei Miller during a meeting at a state residence outside Moscow.

"Tomorrow morning at 1000 (0700 GMT) we plan to start test shipments via the Sudzha (compressor) station towards Western consumers," Miller said. Putin replied: "Good, I agree, let's get down to work."

Miller said gas transit monitors had already set off for gas compressor stations in Russia and Ukraine.
