California State Auditor`s Office Announces Voters First Act, Prop 11, Regional Public Meeting Schedule

Meeting to Discuss Formation of Citizens Redistricting Commission SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(Business Wire)-- The California State Auditor`s Office will be hosting its first public meetings to obtain input on regulations needed to implement the Voters First Act (Act) including regulations relating to the State Auditor`s application and selection process for the Citizens Redistricting Commission (Commission). This Act was approved by voters in November 2008 as Proposition 11. "We recognize that voters have entrusted us with forming a commission of Californians to implement the Voters First Act and are committed to carrying out this responsibility with the same due diligence, objectivity, and independence as we do in conducting all our work," said Elaine Howle, California State Auditor. "We want to ensure a wide range of voices are heard and look forward to hosting public forums throughout the state." The meetings are open to the public on the following dates and locations. All meetings will conclude earlier than the designated ending time if all comments have been made.
