LAKE FOREST, Calif.--(Business Wire)-- This week, Del Taco takes value up a notch when the company introduces, not one, but three new $3 meals; complete meals that include a drink. In addition to popular Del`s Deal and the new Classic Combo Deal, Del Taco is adding a Value Deal with a chicken soft taco, half-pound bean and cheese burrito and small drink. Del`s Deal, which includes two half-pound bean and cheese burritos, a regular taco and small drink, was first introduced in early 2008 and the Classic Combo Deal with a Classic Taco, Del Combo burrito and small drink was introduced in October. "Consumers know Del Taco offers value, great taste and a dependable experience. Now for only $3, we`ve added more choices to get your Del Taco fix," said Sharon Fogg, senior vice president of marketing at Del Taco. "This level of value will certainly make customers think twice about what they are getting for their money at other chains, and that`s a frustration we certainly understand." Del Taco`s new ad plays out this frustration. In the ad, a customer shakes with anger after receiving his tray full of food, and explains he realized how he is being ripped off at other chains that do not have the same value for the price. The cashier, having seen this before, calls for help. From the back of the restaurant comes an employee who proceeds to get a "wedgie" from customer. The customer sighs and replies "thanks, that`s better." Del Taco menu items are made fresh to order, and are prepared with many quality ingredients including lard-free beans made from scratch daily, real cheddar cheese grated on site, chicken grilled fresh every hour, and fresh produce. Del Taco has more than 510 restaurants in 16 states.
