Bang & Olufsen to lay off 200-300 workers -Danish TV
COPENHAGEN |
COPENHAGEN Jan 15 (Reuters) - Danish luxury stereo and television maker Bang & Olufsen BOb.CO will lay off between 200 and 300 workers in a new round of job cuts, Danish television station DR said on Thursday.
DR quoted several anonymous sources close to the company. B&O declined to comment.
B&O, whose high-end TVs can cost more than $30,000, has seen its sales hit hard by the global economic downturn. It fired its chief executive and cut 300 positions last year.
The company is expected to report later on Thursday a pretax loss of 218 million Danish crowns ($38.45 million) in the June 1 to Nov. 30 period compared to a pretax profit of 150 million in the corresponding period the previous fiscal year.
