Leading communications lifecycle management provider significantly expands
solution portfolio with device-level capabilities and support
ORANGE, Conn.--(Business Wire)--
Tangoe, Inc., a leading global provider of enterprise communications lifecycle
management software and technology-enabled services, today announced that it has
acquired InterNoded, Inc., the Waltham, Massachusetts-based premier provider of
Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions. The acquisition enables global
enterprise clients to receive additional value from their relationship with
Tangoe by enabling greater visibility and control of smartphone devices.
Conversely, existing InterNoded customers now have access to a comprehensive
array of solutions that span the entire lifecycle of both fixed and mobile
communications.

"The combination of Tangoe and InterNoded is a significant transaction for
global enterprises managing complex mobile networks with diverse device types
and multiple application deployments," said Kathryn Weldon, principal analyst
for enterprise mobility at Current Analysis. "The explosive growth of enterprise
mobile devices has pressured companies to seek solutions that reduce support
costs, mitigate security risks, and better manage their network infrastructure.
This consolidation addresses these emerging issues."

Operational integration of the two companies is well underway and led by Tangoe
founder, president and CEO Al Subbloie. Former InterNoded president and CEO
Julie Palen will continue her leadership in the newly formed division of Tangoe
as senior vice president of MDM. All current Tangoe and InterNoded locations
will remain in full operation in support of the newly formed organization and
the company`s nearly 400 customers.

"As the premier supplier of mobile management solutions, Tangoe recognized the
need for solutions at the device-level," said Tangoe president and CEO Al
Subbloie. "The addition of MDM capabilities enhances and extends Tangoe`s
already strong value proposition for fixed and mobile communications asset
management. Tangoe`s CommCare solutions manage many of the challenges inherent
in today`s mobile environment, from device procurement to optimizing billing
charges, to managing complex carrier relationships. But we saw an opportunity in
providing tools to manage the actual device and its applications." Continues
Subbloie, "Many IT and telecom departments are procuring, kitting, loading,
shipping, and supporting smart devices. As a result of this acquisition, Tangoe
clients can now utilize MDM technology and services that minimize mobile device
costs and constraints, enable rapid enterprise-wide device deployments, improve
device application change management, increase understanding and control of
real-time device usage, and facilitate enterprise-wide device migrations."

The continuing explosion of smart device usage in the enterprise has led to a
significant increase in the need to more efficiently manage the distribution,
usage, and security of the actual devices, the enterprise data residing on the
devices, and the applications running on the devices. The addition of MDM
capabilities now enables an organization to manage, through a single solution
provider, all aspects of its mobile communication environment including:
procurement, invoice processing, rate optimization, end user help desk support,
device activation and deactivation, device network and application management,
and device and data security.

Using Tangoe`s MDM solution, employees can provision and support their own
devices and applications without help desk intervention. Similarly, IT
departments and mobile communications administrators can now effectively manage
their entire mobile network from one centralized interface. These capabilities
yield dramatic reductions in the demands placed upon enterprise help desk
resources, drastically reduce user downtime, and significantly improve change
management abilities for mobile network administrators. Tangoe`s MDM solutions
enable a comprehensive range of solutions from self-service activations,
application loading and control, device inventory, and data and device security.
In addition, over-the-air management provides clients with unparalleled access
and control of their enterprise smart devices without the need to physically
handle or configure each unit.

With the capability to support multiple wireless platforms (including Blackberry
Enterprise Server, Windows Mobile, Good Mobile Messaging, iPhone, and others),
Tangoe`s MDM solutions offer capabilities for any enterprise smartphone, are
enabled for any carrier, and support leading messaging platforms. MDM is
delivered via a single server that integrates with the customers` device servers
and corporate directory. Accessed via an easy-to-use portal environment,
over-the-air management functionality is made available to both end users and to
system administrators through a web interface. All interactions with the device
are handled in a secure environment. Enterprises have access to services such
as:

* Self serviced or centrally administered activations
* Usage reporting by individual or group
* Device attributes and device status updated on predetermined schedules
* Individual or group application changes on smart devices
* Denial or removal of non-approved mobile applications
* Server load balancing and application throttling to optimize network
management and minimize client help desk calls
