Sen. Byrd "fine" after luncheon incident: aide
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Sen. Robert Byrd is "fine" after having been removed from an inaugural luncheon for President Barack Obama after a fellow senator, Edward Kennedy, collapsed, an aide said.
"He's fine," the aide said, adding that the 91-year-old Democrat from West Virginia had been removed from the luncheon by his security detail. Kennedy, 76, was removed after apparently suffering from convulsions. The Massachusetts Democrat is battling a brain tumor.
