Kennedy doing well after seizure, doctor says
BOSTON |
BOSTON (Reuters) - U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy suffered a seizure on Tuesday but is awake and feeling well, his office said hours after the Democratic icon who is being treated for a brain tumor collapsed in Washington.
"Senator Edward Kennedy experienced a seizure today while attending a luncheon for President Barack Obama in the U.S. Capitol," Dr. Edward Aulisi, chairman of neurosurgery at Washington Hospital Center, said in a statement released by Kennedy's office.
"After testing, we believe the incident was brought on by simple fatigue," he said. "Senator Kennedy is awake, talking with family and friends, and feeling well. He will remain at the Washington Hospital Center overnight for observation, and will be released in the morning."
