FACTBOX: Confidence in business declines around world: survey

(Reuters) - Almost two-thirds of informed adults worldwide -- 62 percent -- said they became less trusting of business last year, according to a survey commissioned by U.S. public relations firm Edelman.

Of the 20 countries surveyed, the greatest decline came in Ireland, with 83 percent losing confidence; while Brazilian confidence was least shaken, with only 21 percent losing confidence.

The data come from a telephone poll of 4,475 people in 20 countries conducted from November 5 through December 14. Polling was limited to "informed adults," defined as those with college educations and top-quartile household income who followed business and public policy news.
