WASHINGTON Jan 28 (Reuters) - U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on Wednesday he is looking for the Senate to begin debate on a massive economic stimulus package on Monday.

The Nevada Democrat said he is seeking agreement with Republicans to begin debate Monday afternoon with an eye toward completing action "as quickly as we can."

He said he wants the Senate to finish the legislation by the end of next week so it could begin negotiations with the House of Representatives on a final package to send to President Barack Obama before Congress takes a mid-Febrauary recess. (reporting by Donna Smith and Susan Cornwell)
