Technology to be Integrated into Purewire Web Security Service for Enhanced
Analysis of Web Users` Reputation
ATLANTA--(Business Wire)--
Purewire, Inc., a SaaS-based Secure Web Gateway vendor that protects business
and social interactions on the Web, today announced it has acquired Opinity, a
pioneer in online reputation management. This acquisition strengthens Purewire`s
reputation technology and ability to provide business users with complete
protection from malicious people, places and things on the Web.

Highlights of the agreement include:

* Purewire has acquired all Opinity software and intellectual property, and is
integrating it into the Purewire Web Security Service.
* Doyon Kim, co-founder of Opinity and Dialpad Communications, has joined
Purewire`s Industry Advisory Board (See Release: Purewire Announces Formation of
Strategic Advisory Board with Executives from Innovative Business and IT
Security Companies)

"As more organizations adopt Web 2.0 technologies such as blogs or wikis to
conduct business, online reputation is even more important," said Mike Van
Bruinisse, co-founder, president and chief operating officer of Purewire, Inc.
"Opinity has a long-standing history of capturing and managing those
reputations, and we are looking forward to making it an important component of
the Purewire service."

"Online identities matter. Establishing an online user reputation improves the
credibility and credentials of those people who interact online," said Dr. Paul
Judge, co-founder and chief technology officer of Purewire, Inc. "Purewire has
developed unique algorithms to analyze user reputation across multiple
dimensions. The Opinity intelligence clearly differentiates Purewire in the
market as the only company to protect users from where they are going, what they
are downloading and from anyone malicious or fraudulent with whom they are
interacting."

Founded in 2004, Opinity is an identity service provider useful for commerce,
communities, social applications and blogging. The company has three years of
data and intellectual property used for verification services, reputation
metrics, portability tools and profiles. The identity technologies supported
include OpenID, Microsoft Cardspace and SXIP.

"We created Opinity to address the increasing need to understand those with whom
we`re interacting, particularly as more and more users flock to the Internet and
Web 2.0 applications," said Doyon Kim, founder of Opinity. "Purewire`s vision of
protecting business and casual users at every point of entry to the Web-in the
office, on the road or via the mobile device-is a true complement to what we
have built at Opinity. I look forward to integrating the two companies and being
part of the Advisory Board going forward."

The Purewire Web Security Service is deployed as SaaS-based Secure Web Gateway.
Purewire inspects outbound Web traffic for safety and compliance, and analyzes
Web site response traffic for malicious programs and untrustworthy users. The
Purewire Web Security Service provides high performance processing of Web
traffic to protect users browsing the Web regardless of location or device,
including laptops and mobile devices.
