VIDEO: UN launches Gaza aid plea

Jan 29 - United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon launched a humanitarian appeal for the people of Gaza in the aftermath of Israel's military offensive.

Ban used the meeting of global economic experts in Davos to announce the 613 million U.S.-dollar fund to help the victims of violence in Gaza where Israel's three-week offensive killed about 1,300 Palestinians.

Thirteen Israelis were killed during the same period.
