UK's Brown says G20 summit will focus on economy

DAVOS (Reuters) - The Group of 20 summit in April in London will focus on efforts to counter the global financial crisis, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said on Friday.

"The primary focus of the G20 summit will be on the economic recovery, it will be on jobs and growth," Brown told a news conference at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

He said the summit on April 2 would also discuss issues such as climate change and global poverty.

"We will not solve the problem of climate change without development in Africa... We have got to act on climate change and we have got to act on poverty at the same time," he added.
