LOS ANGELES Feb 4 (Reuters) - Brinker International Inc (EAT.N), the parent of the Chili's Grill & Bar restaurant chain, said on Wednesday it cut 155 headquarters and field management jobs.

The company cut 55 positions from its Dallas head office, where about 1,000 people work.

It also trimmed 100 field jobs from the ranks of 100,000 employees. Most of those cuts were in field management, spokeswoman Stacey Sullivan said.

Sullivan cited the weak economy, the sale of majority stake in its Romano's Macaroni Grill and this year's planned closure of about three dozen restaurants as reasons for the layoffs. (Reporting by Lisa Baertlein; Editing by Tim Dobbyn)
