CLEVELAND, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- JumpStart Inc., the Northeast Ohio venture
development organization that accelerates the growth of innovative early-stage
businesses and ideas, recently announced an investment commitment of $275,000
in iGuiders, Inc. The Cleveland-based information technology company is
developing a guided Internet search technology that simplifies complicated
searches through the use of question and answer logic.

The company's technology, known as Guiders(TM), allows users to research a
complex topic by answering basic questions that become progressively more
specific as users move through the process. The Guider will then generate a
precise search that can be used in any Internet search engine, quickly
pointing users to relevant online information.

Guiders will ultimately lend themselves to highly-targeted, online lead
generation for the business-to-business market, as a Guider will capture the
information gathered in each step, and use that to drive valuable leads to
product/service providers. The process will also be equipped with an
advertising model, with real estate that increases in price as the search
becomes more specific. The company's target market will be vendors whose
products are often too complicated to find and compare online using simple,
Google-type searching. Each Guider will be designed around a specific industry
and available to vendors with an easy-to-use administrative tool that will
enable them to create a custom Guider for their products from scratch.

JumpStart Entrepreneur-in-Residence Mark Smith will be working with the
company to complete the beta version of the product and begin testing. "This
exciting technology blends the vast resource of the Internet with the codified
knowledge of subject matter experts. It allows for the creation of powerful
targeted search tools and qualified lead generation for any product, service
or industry," said Smith.

iGuiders, led by founder Jodi Marchewitz, received a grant from Cleveland's
Civic Innovation Lab, and is the Civic Innovation Lab's first company to
receive a JumpStart investment. iGuiders also received an investment from
local serial entrepreneur Charles Stack/Flashline Partners.

"Researching complex subjects online is challenging because search engines
typically have one input field, binding users to one way of searching,"
Marchewitz said. "With a Guider, searchers delve into a subject even without
knowing traditional keywords, speeding up the discovery process. As a user
refines their search, it presents an unparalleled opportunity to present
highly targeted ads and lead qualification opportunities. We are really
excited because we released the first beta version of our Information Security
Guider on February 2nd, 2009, and with this JumpStart investment we will be
able to add positions for both sales and marketing to start driving traffic
and revenue."

This is JumpStart's 48th investment in its 37th company. Other information
technology business companies in JumpStart's portfolio include Ayalogic,
Banyan Technology, BSKLive, InSeT Systems, Inspiron Logistics, Knotice, and
PreEmptive Solutions.
