Summers sees stimulus law by mid-February
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - One of President Barack Obama's top economic advisers said on Wednesday he was confident that Congress would pass a stimulus bill and get it to the White House in time to meet a mid-February goal.
"I expect a bill to be signed into law on the President's timetable," Lawrence Summers, head of the National Economic Council, said in a conference call with reporters.
"I believe this bill is imperative for our economic security, and I've got great confidence that in our country we do the right thing," he said.
