Ivanov says Biden comments on Russia ties positive
MUNICH, Germany |
MUNICH, Germany (Reuters) - Russia's Deputy Prime Minister said on Sunday that a U.S. offer "to press the reset button" in ties between the U.S.-led NATO alliance and Russia was very positive.
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden made the suggestion in a speech to a security conference in Munich, Germany on Saturday, saying it was time to end a dangerous drift in ties between Moscow and NATO.
Asked by reporters for his response to Biden's speech, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov said it was "very positive." He was speaking ahead of a meeting with Biden.
Ivanov, asked specifically what he had found positive in Biden's comments, said "restarting the button."
