UPDATE 1-DineEquity says IHOP president resigning
LOS ANGELES |
LOS ANGELES Feb 11 (Reuters) - DineEquity Inc (DIN.N) said on Wednesday that Desmond Hague, president of its IHOP Restaurants chain, will resign on Feb 20, "with the intent of pursuing a chief executive officer position at another company."
DineEquity, which also owns the Applebee's restaurant chain, said it has begun a search for a replacement.
IHOP's senior vice president of operations, Jim Peros, will serve as interim president until a successor is found.
DineEquity piled on significant debt after IHOP bought Applebee's.
In September, then Chief Financial Officer Thomas Conforti resigned. Greggory Kalvin is currently the company's interim CFO.
MSD Capital, which owned a 14.4 percent stake in DineEquity as of Sept 18, on Monday said it planned to have further discussions with the company regarding the composition of senior management, including hiring a new CFO. It also said it would discuss debt repayment and other issues. (Reporting by Lisa Baertlein; editing by Carol Bishopric)
