BALTIMORE (Reuters) - The Baltimore Orioles have signed veteran free agent infielder Ty Wigginton to a two-year contract through the 2010 season, the team said on Tuesday.

Wigginton, 31, batted .285 with 23 home runs and 58 RBI in 111 games for the Houston Astros in 2008.

Over seven major league seasons, Wigginton has a .270 batting average with 110 home runs and 384 RBI. Prior to joining Houston, Wigginton played for the New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays.

Financial terms of the deal were not announced.
