Top U.S. lawmaker seeks more Vytorin details

WASHINGTON Feb 19 (Reuters) - The head of a U.S. House of Representatives panel is seeking additional documents from Merck and Co Inc (MRK.N) and Schering-Plough Corp SGP.N about clinical trials of controversial cholesterol drug Vytorin.

Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, in a letter to the two companies on Thursday, requested documents regarding monitoring boards aimed at overseeing patient safety in several clinical trials.
