WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A hearing on the nomination of former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk to be U.S. trade representative has been delayed until Monday, March 9, the Senate Finance Committee said on Monday.

The hearing had been set for this Thursday. It was rescheduled to avoid a conflict with a White House summit on health care reform, the committee said.

President Barack Obama nominated Kirk to be U.S. trade representative on December 19.

Next Monday's hearing will begin at 5 p.m. (2200 GMT), the panel said. Kirk is the only scheduled witness.
