CAIRO, March 4 (Reuters) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit called on the U.N. Security Council to suspend an arrest warrant against Sudan's president by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Darfur.

Egypt's state-run Middle East News Agency said on Wednesday the minister called on the council to "hold an urgent and emergency meeting" to defer the warrant against President Omar Hassan al-Bashir. (Writing by Alaa Shahine)
