NEW DELHI, March 16 | Mon Mar 16, 2009 12:30am EDT

NEW DELHI, March 16 (Reuters) - Bharti Airtel Ltd (BRTI.BO), India's top mobile operator, will restructure its businesses next month as it looks to expand beyond voice telephony, the Economic Times reported on Monday.

The newspaper said Bharti would expand its three divisions to nine to focus on mobile commerce, Internet, enterprise business and small and medium business.

Bharti, which last week appointed a new deputy chief executive, had said it was creating new business verticals such as mobile commerce and mobile entertainment to generate new revenue streams.

The company's direct-to-home satellite television business will also be spun off into a separate unit, the Economic Times said, citing Bharti Chief Executive Manoj Kohli.

A Bharti spokesman said he could not immediately provide more comment. (Reporting by Devidutta Tripathy; Editing by Ranjit Gangadharan)
