Thoracic Surgeons in Europe Already Using Deep Breeze`s O-Plan Application, Based On VRIxp Functional & Regional Quantification Imaging Technology MANNHEIM, Germany--(Business Wire)-- Deep Breeze Ltd., manufacturer of the FDA approved VRIxp & VRIxv lung imaging systems, announced that it has received CE mark for its O-Plan application extending the usefulness of Deep Breeze's revolutionary VRI technology to patients eligible for lung cancer resection. The application has recently received the CE mark and it is used by thoracic surgeons in European Union countries. Responding to the market need for the elimination of radiation-based imaging; the O-Plan application replaces nuclear perfusion scans that are performed prior lung resections, with radiation-free VRIxp recordings. Deep Breeze Ltd. has developed the O-plan to be tailored specifically for thoracic surgeons. Together with VRIxp test and the O-Plan results, the surgeon can now with an improved accuracy predict the operability of patients with lung malignancies. The O-plan`s accuracy is based on clinical guidelines for post-surgery prediction, and the VRIxp`s regional lung imaging quantification tool`s reliability to correlate with VQ Scan results. The specialist simply combines VRIxp`s results on any PC with the lung function results and the intended surgery data, and at a touch of a button interactively plans the lung surgery. "Developing novel applications supporting VRIxp`s recordings expands the scope of our innovative imaging technology to the most demanding applications. Receipt of the CE mark for the O-plan is yet another milestone supporting Deep Breeze`s expertise in meeting the most stringent quality & safety standards. Evidently, the initial installations in Germany, Spain ,Turkey, Check Republic and in the Russian Federation indicate that the O-plan will enjoy a successful EU penetration." said Dr. Miki Nagler, CEO, Deep Breeze Ltd. One of the leading O-plan investigators, Prof. Juan Bautista Galdiz - Cruces Hospital in Bilbao, Spain added: "Findings on 50 subjects suggest that predictions based on lung function testing and VRIxp data demonstrated a high accuracy in comparison to the actual postoperative results. This correlation is likewise observed in relation to techniques as the V/Q scan. This data suggests the inclusion of the VRIxp in the evaluation PPO in patients intervened of lung cancer."
