Germany's Merkel welcomes Obama's Iran message
BRUSSELS |
BRUSSELS (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Friday U.S. President Barack Obama's video message to Iran reflected the European view and added that she hoped Tehran would take up his offer.
"I think the message reflects exactly what the Europeans have always wanted -- that an offer is being made to Iran and... (I hope) that this is being used," Merkel said after a meeting by EU leaders in Brussels.
