Carroll Shelby Launches Shelby Signature Foods

GARDENA, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Carroll Shelby, chairman and founder of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (Pink
Sheets: CSBI), has formed a company to produce and sell food items under the
"Shelby Signature Foods" name. The company will focus on healthy comfort foods,
as well as regional specialties such as salad dressing mixes, cornbread, salsa,
and fried chicken batter mix.

"I`ve always loved to cook and people really seem to enjoy my creations," said
Mr. Shelby. "Shelby Signature Foods gives me a chance to have fun in the food
business again by feeding the demand for my recipes, while also raising some
money for my charitable foundations."

One of America`s greatest race car drivers, Carroll Shelby dominated sports car
racing in the mid-1950s. Sports Illustrated named him "Driver of the Year"
twice. His crowning achievement as a driver came when he won the 24 hours of Le
Mans in 1959.

When he retired from racing, Shelby began a new chapter in his storied career.
In 1962, he forged a relationship with Ford Motor Company and founded Shelby
American to create the legendary Cobra sports car and Shelby Mustangs. Today his
company, Shelby Automobiles, leads the pack of performance vehicle manufacturers
worldwide.

Though most recognized for his automotive exploits, Mr. Shelby has been very
influential in the food industry for years. He was involved with creating the
first World Chili cook-offs in Terlingua, Texas during 1968. That led Shelby in
1969 to create the "Carroll Shelby Chili" mix, which he sold in 1986.

He also helped start the "Chili`s" restaurant chain with Larry Lavine in 1975.
Shelby was involved in choosing the menu and designing the restaurants. Many of
them feature décor from the Terlingua Chili Cook-offs that Shelby helped create.

Recently, Carroll Shelby and Guy Fieri cooked together for the public at the
2008 SEMA show in Las Vegas at the Shelby booth. Later that evening, Guy and
Carroll collaborated on a meal for a small group of dignitaries, friends and
media in the Shelby Corner Café at the Shelby factory near the Las Vegas Motor
Speedway.

Many of the food products will be served at the Shelby Corner Café before they
roll out to retail outlets. Mr. Shelby`s team is working with a private label
company to develop, produce and distribute the product lines.
