POTOMAC, MD, Mar 23 (MARKET WIRE) --
Technical analyst and one of America's top chartists, Gary B. Smith, has
announced that he is launching a financial newsletter "The Chartman's Top
Stocks" (www.thechartman.com) on March 10, 2009 geared to active traders.
Information included in the newsletter will, according to Smith, "provide
daily opportunities to make money regardless if the market is going up or
down."

ONE FREE DAILY ALERT -- THREE GREAT SUBSCRIPTION OFFERS

Three subscription rates are offered for the daily stock alerts.
Subscribers will have the opportunity to sign up for a free version of the
newsletter which will provide a weekly update and general insights from
Smith. A paid version will include daily email alerts and tips, technical
analysis of specific stocks and Smith's renowned charts.

"There is currently a need in the marketplace for information that gives
active traders the ability to fine tune their strategy and create one that
is flexible and works well in all kinds of market environments," says
Smith. "The days of buy-and-hold are long gone, and never truly worked.
Through the newsletter, traders will have the tools for disciplined
trading methodology, and for those that already have a strategy it will
give a sense of perspective and new insights."

    CHARTMAN TO THE MEDIA

Smith ran a highly successful newsletter for five years, before taking on
commitments with several business media outlets. He has been a contributor
to Fox News Channel's "Chartman," "Bulls & Bears" and "Your World with
Neil Cavuto" since 1999. From 1997 through 2005 he was a Contributing
Editor for theStreet.com where he wrote a daily column on technical
trading analysis and edited a daily trading newsletter.

Mr. Smith is a Registered Investment Advisor with Exemplar Partners, LLC
and is a General Partner in Exemplar Capital Fund I LP, a technically
driven hedge fund which he opened in 2006. Mr. Smith has a B.S. in
Management Science and an A.B. in Economics which he earned from Duke
University in 1979. He also earned an MBA from Lehigh University in 1980.

GIVING BACK: THE LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION

A biking enthusiast, Smith has added a charity element where visitors to
thechartman.com can donate to the LIVESTRONG Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Those that make a donation of at least $25 can design Gary's bike
including color and logos. Both the largest donor and the best designer
will have their names on the bike and receive a year's free subscription
to thechartman.com.
