TORONTO, ONTARIO, Mar 24 (MARKET WIRE) --
Canadian-based Canasia Power Corp. begins development of 2 'Mega' 2,000MW
supercritical thermal power projects in India, one in the most power
deficient State of Uttar Pradesh, and the other in the most
industrialized State of Gujarat. The two States, and the Country itself
are projecting strong current and future demand for power as the Indian
economy continues to expand.
Canasia Power Corp., a Canadian power development company, was formed to
develop, build, own and operate electricity generating power plants using
the latest environmentally efficient technologies, in highly power
deficient but strong developing economies like India.
Canasia has upped its stake in India's growing economy with its chronic
and increasing power deficit, by dramatically increasing the size of its
original, well advanced 800MW thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh to
2,000MW, and undertaking a new 2,000MW thermal project in Gujarat, to be
set up on the coast, to facilitate the importation of fuel.
