Retired U.S. Air Force General Charles F. Wald, Former Deputy Commander, U.S.
European Command, Joins Deloitte
WASHINGTON, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- General Charles "Chuck" F. Wald, the
former Deputy Commander of U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), has joined
Deloitte in the organization's Aerospace and Defense (A&D) industry practice.
In his new role, Wald will serve as a senior advisor, consulting to Deloitte's
A&D industry, government and commercial clients.
"General Wald has had a distinguished military career, and we're very pleased

understanding of issues and challenges facing our nation's defense, civilian
and commercial communities will make General Wald a significant asset to our

Prior to joining Deloitte, Wald was a vice president, International Programs
for L-3 Communications Corporation, based in Washington, D.C.
As Deputy Commander, USEUCOM, a position he held from 2002 until his
retirement from the U.S. Air Force in July 2006, he was responsible for all
U.S. forces operating across 91 countries in Europe, Africa, Russia, parts of
Asia, the Middle East and most of the Atlantic Ocean. Prior to that, he
served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Air and Space Operations at the Pentagon.
Previously, he led the coalition air campaign in Operation Enduring Freedom,
leading to the extraction of Taliban forces in Afghanistan.
During his more than 35 years of service, Wald was a command pilot with more
than 3,600 flying hours and 430 combat hours. He also received major military
awards and decorations, including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal.
General Wald is a graduate of North Dakota State University and received an MA
in International Relations from Troy State University. He has also completed
coursework at Harvard University and the National War College.
